The deadline for applications by hoteliers from the private sector to exercise the right to receiving subsidies through non – refundable funding expires on September 15, 2020

On September 1, 2020, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia issued a public call for distribution of subsidies to support the operations of the hotel industry in Serbia affected by business difficulties caused by the epidemic of COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The public call will be in place until September 15, 2020, and the funds for the distribution of subsidies in the maximum amount of 1,460,000,000 dinars are allocated by the Law on the Budget of the Republic of Serbia for 2020.

The right to receive subsides through non-refundable funding may be exercised by hospitality services providers from the private sector whose hotels are categorized and who perform activities on the territory of one of the 70 local self-government units.

Funds are allocated in the amount of 350 euros per individual bed and 150 euros per accommodation unit in dinar counter value calculated at the middle exchange rate of the National Bank of Serbia on the day when the funds are allocated.

Entities undergoing bankruptcy proceedings, which are in the process of financial restructuring or liquidation, or are undergoing any procedure relating to prepackaged reorganization plans may not apply for the non-refundable funds.

Entities that reduce their number of employees by more than 10% in the period from August 15, 2020 to December 31, 2020 will lose their right to subsidies through non-refundable funding.
